Nothing occurs on The Wizard Course that does not contribute in some way to everyone’s spiritual attainment.
You are lost in a dark cave and don’t know which way to go. Characteristic of a sentient being, you pray for guidance. And as your eyes become accustomed to the dark, a new awareness awakens, and you notice that one direction is lighter than the other.
Proceeding toward the light, you come upon a smooth wall of rock that is reflecting a soft light. This must be enlightenment, you think. But as your eyes become accustomed to the soft light, a new awareness awakens, and you notice that the light really comes from a nearby pool of water. This must be enlightenment, you think.
Arriving at the pool, your eyes become accustomed to the reflection of light from the water. A new awareness awakens, and you notice that the light really comes from the reflection of the moon. This must be enlightenment, you think.
While contemplating the light of the moon, another new awareness awakens, and you notice that the light really comes from the fires of the sun. This must be enlightenment, you think.
On The Wizard Course, the awareness that notices new awareness awakening is discovered. It never slept. What is this enlightenment, you think, and you laugh, because from the Wizard’s view the answer is so simple.
Beneath the luminous reality of mind, which stretches infinitely about you, there is one absolute, and Avatars call it the Wizard. All form and manifestation are of the Wizard. You never hurt anyone but the Wizard; you are never hurt by anyone but the Wizard. You never meet anyone but the Wizard, and you are never offended by anyone but the Wizard. You are never really angry at anyone but the Wizard. Making peace with this omnipresent Wizard, who is literally closer than you think, is true enlightenment.
